BONNYCASTLE AVENUE
&
BARDSTOWN ROAD
This well-known NW corner of the busy Bonnycastle Avenue and Bardstown Road crossing has been home to a number of establishments including Carmichael’s Bookstore and The Parisian Pantry. Today Cafe 360 is a popular spot with al fresco seating.
Originally called the Louisville Road, Bardstown Road
(US Highway 31E) is a major artery through the southeastern portion of Metro Louisville. Bardstown Road defines much of the character of the Highlands.
Facing south on Bardstown Road, little has changed at the SE corner of Bonnycastle Avenue and Bardstown Road where Leatherhead has been in business for over three decades. Past favorites across the street were de La Torres Restaurant, authentic Spanish fine dining, and Twice Told Coffee Shop…Rick booked great entertainment!

TAYLORSVILLE ROAD & BARDSTOWN
Bardstown Road was originally a turnpike; road construction began in 1832. As the route continued to grow southward, tolls were collected at gatehouses located along the way at the corners
of Baxter&Broadway and Patterson&Bardstown, extending to Eastern Parkway&Bardstown in 1873; the road reached Speed Avenue&Bardstown by 1901.
